Visual Inspection

Visual Inspection
Visual Inspection is one of the most widely used methods of non-destructive testing. Effective visual inspection requires trained and certified personnel with a thorough understanding of applicable codes, standards, service conditions, and acceptance criteria.
Clarity Rope Access provides certified visual inspections for piping, pressure vessels, tanks, structural components, and other industrial assets. Our technicians perform both direct and remote visual inspections using specialized equipment, including fiber-optic borescopes, allowing detailed assessments in difficult-to-access areas. Digital documentation and reporting ensure accurate records and support informed maintenance decisions.
Our inspection services include:
- API 510 – Pressure Vessel and Heat Exchanger Inspection
- API 570 – Pressure Piping Inspection
- API 653 – Aboveground Storage Tank Inspection
Our inspections are performed in accordance with applicable ASME, CSA, and API standards. Contact us to learn more about our inspection procedures and capabilities.

Thermography (IR) Infrared Testing
Infrared thermography (IR) uses thermal imaging technology to detect heat emitted by equipment and structures. By identifying temperature variations that are invisible to the naked eye, infrared inspections can reveal potential faults, defects, and inefficiencies before they lead to equipment failure or unplanned downtime.
Common industrial applications include:
- Electrical Systems – Detecting loose connections, overloaded circuits, and other electrical faults
- Mechanical Equipment – Identifying overheating motors, bearings, and rotating equipment
- Fluid Systems – Monitoring pipe temperatures, locating blockages, and verifying tank levels
- Building Inspections – Detecting missing insulation, air infiltration, and moisture intrusion
- Low-Slope Roofs – Locating moisture trapped within roofing insulation
Infrared thermography supports predictive maintenance by providing fast, accurate, and non-invasive inspections that help identify potential issues before failures occur. This allows maintenance to be planned proactively, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and helping control repair costs.
Leak Testing
Clarity Rope Access provides comprehensive leak testing services using both the direct pressure bubble method and the vacuum box bubble testing method to verify the integrity of pressure systems and welded components.
For projects requiring hydrotesting, we work alongside trusted industry partners to coordinate certified third-party hydrotesting and surveillance inspections, providing our clients with a seamless, fully managed solution. Leak testing procedures are available upon request.
